ABOUT THE KNIGHTS:
We are the Knights of Columbus of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, an organization of Catholic men dedicated to the ideals of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism in service to God. Together, we empower Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work, and in their community. Wherever you are in your faith journey, the Knights provide the spiritual tools needed to live in today’s world as a Catholic man. Join us.
All the good works we do are informed by our four core principles:
Charity
Our Catholic faith teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Members of the Knights of Columbus show love for their neighbors by conducting food drives and donating the food to local soup kitchens and food pantries, by volunteering at Special Olympics, and by supporting, both spiritually and materially, mothers who choose life for their babies. Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.
Fraternity
The Knights of Columbus was founded, in large part, to provide assistance to the widows and children left behind when the family breadwinner died – often prematurely. The Order’s top-rated insurance program continues to do this today, as do the good works of individual Knights, who annually give more than 75 million service hours, illustrating how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy.
Patriotism
Members of the Knights of Columbus are patriotic citizens. We are proud of our devotion to God and country, and believe in standing up for both. Whether it’s in public or private, the Knights remind the world that Catholics support their nations and are amongst the greatest citizens. We gratefully support our veterans.
Unity
None of us is as good as all of us. Members of the Knights of Columbus all know that – together – we can accomplish far more than any of us could individually. So, we stick together…we support one another. That doesn’t mean that we always agree or that there is never a difference of opinion. It does mean that – as a Knight of Columbus – you can count on the support and encouragement of your brother Knights as you work to make life better in your parish and community.
With more than 2.1 million members around the world, the Knights of Columbus have been investing our time, effort and resources into our values of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism since it was founded by the Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney in 1882.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Empowering Catholic men to live their faith and serve their family, parish, community, and country.
ABOUT PRINCE OF PEACE COUNCIL 8791:
The Council of the Knights of Columbus of Prince of Peace Catholic Church was founded more than 40 years ago. We are a Council of more than 200 Catholic men from every stage of life and every background. We are a diverse and welcoming brotherhood of believers. We come together to put our FAITH IN ACTION through service activities of Faith, Family, Community, and Life. Our goal is to help men and their families grow closer to Jesus Christ. From serving bi-monthly Pancake Breakfasts, to praying together at our Fifth Saturday Rosary, to supporting the Special Olympics, to building homes for Habitat for Humanity, to serving Coffee & Donuts after Sunday Masses, to visiting our Veterans every month at the Veterans Nursing Home, to preparing and hosting Lenten Fish Dinners, to facilitating a monthly gathering of Cor for prayer and fraternity, to holding our annual Tootsie Roll Drive to help persons with developmental disabilities, and so much more, we live our faith every day.
We are a fraternity of men of faith, with a shared desire to be the men that God created and called us to be. As Knights, we bear witness to the hope of Jesus Christ by living our Catholic faith. In doing so, we give of ourselves where we are needed. As we say, where there’s a need, there’s a Knight.
